Together with two highly experienced compliance managers, Michiel van Eersel provides his opinion on the position of compliance officers within banks. This is done in light of the increasing external pressure on banks to prevent financial economic crime, also in their role as gatekeeper pursuant to AML/CFT laws. This development was accelerated by the recent high value settlements by Dutch banks related to non-compliance and the prosecution of senior bank managers.
