Joost is a seasoned corporate and commercial litigator with two decades of experience. He started his career with the first true Dutch litigation boutique where he gained particular expertise in complex international insolvency, shareholder and D&O-liability matters. Joost also receives instructions in financial matters governed by the law of the Dutch Caribbean.
He has developed specific expertise in environmental governance, having undertaken related projects for the Delft University of Technology and the University of Amsterdam. He has a keen interest in CSR issues and the private enforcement of environmental regulations. In 2016, he set up his own boutique firm where he was instructed in a number of high-profile collective consumer actions. Joost is an alumnus of the University of Amsterdam and was admitted to the Bar in 2002.
Each summer holiday Joost co-authors a children’s book together with his two young sons and illustrates the same. The books have yet to be published…
